In a move that fuses music, culture and youth empowerment, Betway and the Betway Cares Foundation have partnered with Scorpion Kings Live with Friends to launch the 100 Lives Initiative internship programme set to give 100 young South Africans a foot in the entertainment industry door.
With Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa headlining the Scorpion Kings Live with Friends concert at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on August 29, the initiative offers selected youth hands-on experience in the production, logistics and creative process behind one of SA’s biggest shows.
“This isn’t only a show, it’s a movement,” said Kabza and DJ Maphorisa.
“We want young people to know they belong in these spaces.”
Open to individuals aged 18 to 28, the programme will include skills development, training and bursary opportunities made possible by Betway and Betway Cares’ ongoing investment in youth upliftment.
“As a strategic partner, Betway Cares is proud to work with changemakers to tackle the issues facing youth in South Africa,” said Bakang Lethoko, head of Betway Cares Foundation.
“The initiative is about real skills, real experience and real opportunities.”
The festival will feature performances by the Scorpion Kings, Daliwonga, Young Stunna, Msaki, Focalistic, Ami Faku, Kwesta, Mlindo the Vocalist and more.
